The date is Saturday, May 6 at Paparo's Speed Shop in Lancaster, PA. Make the mods you've wanted to do with a wrench looking over your shoulder. Install the trigger wheel, shim or re-jet the carbs, polish the intakes. Before and after dynos. $30 for the dynos, not many shekels for the assistance of a master mechanic, lots of good lookin' fast ridin' Valkyrie drivers. Shoo Fly Pie extra. Barbeque at Big Mike Lei's after the work is done. Send an email to Dyno_Party@hotmail.com for more info, directions, and a reservation.
Our Dyno Party at Paparo's Speed Shop in Lancaster,
PA is just around the corner. We'll be there from 8 am to 6 pm, and Big Mike Lei has
posted a notice on the VOA board inviting everyone back to his place for a Barbeque
Shftr and Joe Paparo have come up with finalized costs for the day -- $30 for a before-and-after dyno (plus a tip for the tech), and help from the wrench at the rate of $25 per hour.
Shftr has suggested that many of you might want to order parts from Paparo's and have them waiting for you, particularly tires, K&N air filters, needles, shims and such. Call Paparo's (717-295-4988) to order in advance of the day.
A reminder that our rain date will be May 13. If you have any questions about the weather, call me Friday (610-296-1866) or have me paged (800-606-0649).
Looking forward to seeing you all.
We've got a great day planned for Valkyrie owners on May 6th! (rain date, May 13th) . We have arranged with the owner of Paparo's Cycle Shop, an independent speed shop in Lancaster, PA, for a VALKYRIE DYNO DAY. From 8:00 am to 6:00 p.m., we will have exclusive use of the shop, PLUS the opportunity to have your baby dyno-ed. There will be a dyno technician and a master mechanic on hand to help.
A few of us want to put on the new trigger wheel, and would like a before/after comparison. Some of you may want to do other mods but would like a little guidance. Want to re-jet your carbs and polish your intakes? THIS IS THE TIME TO DO IT.
Now -- the rub -- obviously, you can only do so many dynos in one day, and the mechanic can only handle so many mods. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER by sending an email to, email@example.com listing the types of work you'd like to do.
Naturally, you supply all necessary parts. Cost? Paparo's is charging us $400 for the day, INCLUDING the cost of the pros -- an incredible deal. We will divide it up accordingly among those who participate. Of course, you'd be more than welcome to tip the pros, who are giving up their Saturday for us. This will be a great day for SE PA Valkyrie riders.
Paparo's is west of Lancaster, on the right, at the second traffic light, just south of the Rohrerstown exit of Rt. 30. (741east). Nice ride out, smoother ride back! I'll send out further reminders, but if you're wise, you'll register early to reserve a place. We are almost at the cutoff point, for registrations.
There is much to see and do in southeast PA. Including, outlet shopping, and lots of PA. Dutch cooking, and some very beautiful country riding.
